Latest Sorel Styles to get you through the winter

The Sorel boot company has a long history of protecting the feet and lower legs from the most inhospitable Canadian winters, with the first footwear produced back in 1908. A firm favourite in its native Canada, it was not until 1959 when the company really started to ramp up production and expand the range. The company takes its name from the Quebec town known for its harsh winters and high level of industry. The boots were first marketed as hard wearing cold weather work boots, which offered the robustness to cope with the workplace, and the warmth and waterproofing to cope with harsh winters, heavy rainfall and deep snow.
The brand has since become synonymous with cold weather protection, and produces an extensive range of warming winter boots, as well as more casual lightweight trainers for around town, and has even now ventured into the great indoors, with a range of snug wool lined moccasin slippers for around the house; perfect for relaxation after a hard day trudging through deep snow.

Whilst Sorel still offer that same rugged designs, the range has since been expanded from work boots to more fashionable footwear styles, whilst not cutting back on any of the features which made them so popular.  The latest styles to arrive at Purekit.com are to die for, with the women’s Joan of the Arctic one of the most attractive boots ever stocked. The boots offer extravagant style, with a thick and warm faux fur cuff which positively screams warmth and toastiness, and stylish waterproof suede uppers and a vulcanised rubber shell to ensure that water and snow never gets inside the boots.  The easy lace up style makes for easy removal at the end of a long day, and ensures the boots stay snugly on the feet. All of the boots in the range feature the Sorel felt plug underfoot, to ensure that no matter how cold the ground gets that your feet are never made to suffer.

Another new arrival offers a departure from the suede, nubuck and leather models for which the brand is famed, instead using a waterproof Nylon upper for greater flexibility. Even though the boot is lightweight, it doesn’t scrimp on insulation thanks to a 6mm felt boot liner.  The range of Sorel slippers has also had a boost this winter, with the addition of the Sorel Nakiska Slide slipper, offering a snug design for the great indoors, with a wool and acrylic thick lining for warmth and comfort and a high traction natural rubber non marking sole for great grip on tiles, linoleum, carpet and parquet flooring.

If you were holding out on a purchase of a pair of warm winter boots or slippers in the hope that Punxsutawney Phil will declare an early spring, it’s probably best not to wait. The outlook doesn’t look too hot, and with more cold weather to come and the icy cold of February, a new pair of Sorel boots is sure to still see a lot of use this year!
